Today, Lila went along with me to run errands. I dropped off some toys for a friend in lower SE and then back up to 82nd to drive the long way to Target and Michael's. It was just so nice out and I am really enjoying having a sunroof! At the stores Lila sat in the cart and did so well. She usually does
horrible and screams at me. So being the
fabulous mommy that I am I promised her that we would go to the park after we were done running errands. I don't know if she really understands promises or not at this age but I didn't want to
test that theory! On the way back in the direction of the house we stopped in at Trisha and Riley's house to see if they wanted to join us on a walk to the park. They said yes and we headed out! From their house the park is about 4 blocks away and Lila walked the whole way there. It was a slow and steady process but she did it. We strolled around in the grass and picked dandelions. She had
yellow pollen all on her
nose from smelling them. I am kicking myself for not having my phone or camera on hand! After a half hour we started to walk back. She got a little cranky and didn't want to go home. I remember my friends and their kids doing this and I thought that I would give it a try:
"OK then, Mommy is leaving...I am going to leave you here all by your self if you don't come with me." I said.
She just looked at me.
"Bye bye Lila. I love you."
"BYE!" She said as she runs the opposite direction from where I was standing. She even waved at me.
UGH!
My plan didn't work.
Now we are home and she is napping.
